Baobab Foods LLC controls all steps of the supply chain – from source to finished product. We only source from organically certified regions. Once harvested by our local partners in the remote rural areas of the southern Africa region where there is exceptional density of Baobab tree populations, the fruit from each local area is clearly labeled to ensure full traceability, and then transported to our FSSC 22000 certified production facility in South Africa.
It is important to note that Baobab Fruit Powder occurs naturally as a completely dry powder. It undergoes no spray-drying or freeze-drying. It is 100% natural raw fruit. The Baobab production process involves separating the fruit powder from the rest of the contents of the pod in such a way that provides extremely high yields whilst stripping out 100% of all foreign matter from the finished product. The processed powder is then put through a proprietary process that guarantees world-class quality, consistency and stability for customers.
We have a full time in-house scientist who has developed and monitors all of our quality control procedures. Samples are taken at various stages of production and every batch is tested multiple times for moisture, microbiological content and heavy metals. This process begins upon receipt of raw material at the factory, during processing and prior to shipment. In addition, every season we test for pesticides and nutritional breakdown. Any batches that do not pass our rigorous testing protocols are immediately quarantined and investigated. Our entire proprietary process has been specially designed to produce and deliver pristine Baobab Fruit Powder to our customers every time, protecting them from any risk of poor quality powder from entering their product lines.
